Daily Index Trader Review - Summary

Another system where the words "geek" and "nerd" are used in the sales material. This time the vendor exposes a "payout loophole" that means you "get paid when you win, get paid when you lose". The system has a 76% win ratio since live trading back in September 2009 and does not involve sitting at a computer monitoring open trades. No previous experience is necessary nor is a big trading account.

The system comes with a 69 page manual but this is not the core of the system, the core is the "Evaluator". Simply enter the CAC and DAX closing prices from the previous day and the Evaluator provides details of which trades to use for that day. These trades are typically entered at 0915 UK Time and are Set & Forget. So, no charts, no screen watching, no hassle, does it work ?

Initially, the system is a little bit tricky to get the hang of, find the closing prices, enter them into the spreadsheet, check the trade details, execute the trade, update the spreadsheet, place Stop losses and then finally update and save the spreadsheet with the results ready for the next day. OK, that makes it sound really tricky but in reality, after a few trades it becomes second nature.

Anyway, after trading all through October and November we ended up slightly in the red, we were down around -6% based on a flat 2% risk per trade. Our results are similar to those reported by the vendor so based on our 2 months exposure we can confirm the results posted for that period are accurate.

Historically, the results for this system, according to the website, are impressive and this may just be a bad patch, don't all systems suffer these? On this based, we have decided to give this system at least another month and monitor progress in December for signs of improvement. We will of course be reporting back on the outcome.

Systems For Traders - November 2010 Update

November 2010

All,

Welcome to the Systems For Traders November 2010 update.

Reviews:

Four new reviews were posted this month, one we already dropped a note out on a couple of weeks ago, Jamie Marsdens Forex Morning Strategy. This is a Forex "scalping method" operated around 07:30 UK time. We have also just published our review of the Daily Index Trader system, a Set & Forget (index based) pairs trading strategy.

Signal service wise we have two, Winning DOW Signals and Forex Daily Trading, both of which have aspects of interest and we will be monitoring these two for another month.

As always, links can be found on the left hand side of this email and we welcome your input.

Although we do not not trade in December we will continue with reviews where those systems/services do not discourage December trading. With this in mind we still hope to complete another 3 or 4 reviews this year.

Performance: A positive month (and year) - just:

- London Forex Open -7.5%
- DOW Letter +8.5%

That's a +1% return for the month. It means our 2010 performance table is now complete as we don't trade in December. After being well in profit in the first half of the year we ended up with a rather dismal net +10% profit for our "Systems/Services We Use". Our journals, see left hand side and our Consolidated Monthly Performance page have been updated to reflect these results.

As it's the end of the year we will be reviewing our "Systems/Services We Use" list and of course issuing any update should we change anything.

Reviews Updated: The FX Friday, Forex Morning Trade and 1 Minute Daily reviews have also been updated to reflect recent trading. Note: 1 Minute Daily has made another impressive profit this month to finally restore us to positive territory again on our "growth fund".

Trading Rooms: We now have 7 active trading rooms and welcome participation from all who own these systems, the link is here.

Thanks again for your continued support.

Regards,

Forex Morning Trade Review

This is a Forex Trading which trades GBPUSD and it trades it very early in the morning, 6:30 UK Local time. A customised MT4 indicator does all the work here, at 06:30 it provides all the information necessary to trade. The Entry, Stop and Target are clearly displayed so it's a case of executing your trade at market and then entering the Stop and Target as per the display. If there is no trade, this is clearly displayed so you can go back to bed. Only caveat that makes this not Set & Forget is that the Stop is moved to break-even when in profit by 24 pips. This is not an issue if your broker provides such a function but it will be if it does not. Performance wise we are up 14% over a 9 week period assuming a 2% risk per trade and historic results also look impressive.

A simply to operate system which we will be keeping our eye on and may even consider adding it to our Systems We Use list, you can try it free for 30 days here.

8am Trader System Review

This is the most recent eat your cornflakes, press a few buttons, make money before you go to work trading systems. It is a Set & Forget strategy and trades the FTSE and DOW, go Long one and Short the other at a specific time each morning. The systems manual is quite well written and the trading information in terms of the actual Entry to use and the Stop loss to use is extremely clear. However, the Exit criteria is not, it is way too ambiguous. There were another of issues with system and unlike us we didn't even actually trade it. So we do not have a full review and you can read our reasons in more detail at our Forex Trading Systems Review Site.

Make Money On FX Signal Service Review

This is a Signal service with a bit of a twist. The Make Money On FX is an End Of Day Signal service which usually issues a signal around 10pm UK Local time. It trades up to twenty five different currency pairs although typically only has 2 - 4 open positions at any one time. Signals are pretty standard, they are clear and easy to place orders from, Entry price, Target, Stop and Long/Short. May and June were quite impressive, performance wise and there was no service in July and August, the vendor takes a holiday. When we used the service in September and October we failed to make a profit so this service really needs to get back to pre-holiday performance to start to impress.

So, here's the twist. This is not just a Signal service, when subscribing to this service you also get access to a Live Trading room. This is held Monday to Friday between 6:15 and 9:00 London time. An overview of what the vendor will be on the lookout for is given at shortly before 6:30 when the actual action starts. Only two pairs are traded at present, the EURUSD and GBPUSD. Setups are pointed out quite well in advance so it means that it is relatively easy to get in on the same trades as the vendor. Again though, during September and October when we had access we failed to make a profit. Similar to the Signal service, returns to previous performance levels are needed for this to make the time commitment worthwhile. This service is available though on a 1 month no obligation free trial which is nice for those that wish to "dip their toe", the link is here.

Magic Breakout Forex Trading System

Another Trading system from Tim Trush and Julie Larvin, the two people that brought us the 1 Minute Daily Trading system which we have previously reviewed. This system focuses on GBPUSD and trades the 30 minute time-frame, this is similar to the 1 Minute Break-Out system. The system is Free if you wish to manually trade the signals you can get it here, the paid for version costs $87. With this you get a customised MT4 indicator which makes Entry 100% mechanical (you don't have to watch the other 4 industry standard indicators) and you also get details on the Advanced Exit strategy. Stops and Targets are also mechanical for this system. The main issue with the Magic Break-Out system is that, although the indicator can be set to be audible and visual, it can be signalled at any time of the day. We made a slight loss on this system over 8 weeks and we also found it was just too big an ask to be around 24/7 to react to the entry signals.

FX Childsplay Trading System Review

FX Childsplay claims "Don't waste another minute on Forex Trading Systems that just don't work! This system truly blows the rest away".

The system "uses 3 EMAs" and a "custom made FX Childsplay indicator". It has "easily identifiable entry and exit signals with predefined exit points leaving you nothing more to do than watch the profits roll in".

The system "suits both the day traders and traders who have very little time", it can be traded on all time frames "from 5 minute chart to weekly chart". Those with a "9 to 5 job need to spend at least 10 minutes a day. Maybe 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening. Simple".

The provider provides his email address with the promise "I am always ready to answer all your questions" and "I will go out of my way so you fully absorb and apply my system into your own trading in order for you to make the best out of it",

The entire strategy is set out over about a dozen videos, no manual, takes about 2 hours to go through them.

It says to use two time-frames is simple, 15 minute with 1 hour, 1 hour with 4 hour, etc. but does not recommend which instruments to trade to achieve the results advertised on the website.

So, we contacted support to ask - After 13 days and 3 attempts at establishing contact we decided to give up and not continue our review. A rare event but in this case we feel justified.

4x Pip Snager Review

This system headlines with "Learn how to make 300 to 500 Pips a week with 87% accuracy" - 4 X Pip Snager is a "new Forex system that will change how you trade forever".

Three sample videos on the website illustrate some trades and there are also over a dozen screen shots, all falling into the 87% accurate winning trades. There's then a dozen or so unsolicited testimonials.

This is actually 3 systems:

- 4x Pip Snager Scalper system

- 4x Pip Snager Day Trader System

- 4x Pip Snager Swing Trader System

Being a Clickbank product it has a 100% money back guarantee.

The Systems

The manual makes it clear that EURUSD is the best currency to trade for the Scalper and Day Trading systems. The Swing Trader system was "Written on the spur of the moment" and not too different to the other two so we did not trade it.

Best time-frame is 08:00 - 10:30 London time for Scalper (1 minute chart) and Day Trader (5 minute chart) so that's what we traded.

Entry is about 60-85% mechanical, Stops and Targets are more discretionary.

Conclusion

Trading, mostly in real-time (some retrospectively) during August and September over a 6 week period our results were as follows:

Scalping System

- 24 trades, 12 winners and 12 losers

- A net return of 0%

Day Trader System

- 13 trades, 3 winners and 10 losers

- A net return of -8%

So, it's fair to say, neither system returned anywhere near 300 - 500 pips a week and neither was near the 87% accuracy rate identified on the website.

August 2010 Update

All,

This is the August 2010 update in which we have to report a disastrous months trading in terms of Systems/Services We Use, more on that below.

Reviews: There were two new reviews posted earlier in the month, both BetOnMarkets based. In case you missed the email, they were the Ten Minute Trader and FX Friday, links to both can be found on the left. Today the review for the PositiveFX (Positive Forex) Signal service was posted, again the link can be found on the left.

Performance: As mentioned above, a terrible -28% this month for Systems/Service We Use, our worst ever trading month (we said this in July - if we have to say it again in September .....).

Anyway, results as follows:

- London Forex Open -13%
- DOW Letter -15%

The journals, see left hand side and our Consolidated Monthly Performance page have been updated.

Reviews Updated: The G-Code review and the Net Trap review have both been updated to reflect August trading and our conclusions on both of these systems.

Trading Rooms: A new password protected Net Trap Trading Room has now been created. This means the Net Trap system, it's working's and alternate approaches can be freely discussed. The password - "Is the time (in the format 1:23) Richard recommends to get up - See point 1 under 10 Point Summary of What To Do in the manual, page 3 in ours" - Here is the link to the password protected rooms.

So, a terrible trading month, the nature of the beast. We do not go out drinking champagne and buying all the caviar we can eat when things go great, so we will not try and let this recent run of losses send us to the bottom of a gin glass!

Thanks for your continued support and contributions.

Best wishes,

G-Code By Steve Copan S&P Trading System

This system headlines with “Once you know this code, you’ll hardly ever need to trade again”. The system could reward you with “£35,000 - £40,000 a year in your spare time, by tapping a few keys two or three times a month”. The website also states that “No novices, no dreamers and no halfwits” allowed.

The manual covers the bar charts, Fibonacci retracements/extensions (the basis of the G-Code system) as well as Stochastics. These are all discussed at just the right level to set the tone for the two strategies that make up the G-Code system itself.

The strategies may seem complicated and daunting to some. However, as Steve suggests, some time commitment is needed here, he suggests 30 hours but we doubt it requires that long. All in all about 3 or 4 hours should suffice to run through the manual a couple of times (maybe three), print off the summary sheets and flick through some charts looking for the signals. A few notes of our own and we were satisfied we had a reasonable grasp of both strategies.

Both strategies are 100% mechanical, Set & Forget and are operated at the same time, once a day on the S and P Daily time-frame. Entries, Stops and Targets are crystal clear and a couple of minutes each day is all we needed. We placed our trades around lunchtime (UK), plenty of time before the S and P market opens. Straight forward once you have a grasp of the strategies.

Between March – May 2010 (backtest) and real-time trading in June we made a reasonable profit using both strategies.

Systems For Traders - June Update

June 2010 Update

All,

Two new reviews to report since our last email, 1 Minute Daily and G-Code (Golden Ratio). Additionally, if you missed the previous email, the Tenkei Trading Techniques review has also been completed and posted.

The Forex Net Trap review, a potential for our Systems We Use list, has been updated with June's results.

Performance wise for "Systems/Services We Use", our worst month's trading this year (we made a small loss), we had our best month of the year last month!

- Sniper Forex, +1.5%
- London Forex Open, Our first ever losing month for this system, -3.5%
- DOW Letter, Two winners and a loser for as net +1%

So, as mentioned above, our worst (and only losing) trading month this year, a net loss of 1%. The London Forex Open and DOW Letter journals have been updated on the website.

As part of our bi-annual review we have decided to remove Sniper Forex from our Systems We Use list, you can find our final post
here.

The "
Trading Rooms" continue to be popular and we have recently added 1 Minute Daily there too. Once again we thank those participating and openly invite all other members - the more the merrier!

Do remember to pick up our Free Trade sizer if you haven't already done so. Details can be found
here - we appreciate any feedback for improvements, etc.

Thanks again to all that have contributed to all of the forums, without your input the site would not be the resource it is.

1 Minute Daily Forex Trading Strategy

The 1 Minute Daily manual is quite well written, it’s only 41 pages but plenty sufficient to get the strategy across. It opens with a little bit about trading (and strategies), it then discusses breakouts before describing how to install the indicators and place orders. The installation (of the indicators) and placement of orders should be plain sailing for those with experience of MetaTrader 4, those without will obviously have a slight learning curve.

It really does seem like a minute each morning (09:00 for GBPUSD) 100% mechanical strategy, place two orders, one Long and one Short. The only requirement after this is to be around to cancel the opposing order, if/when the first order triggered hits it’s profit level. This check doesn’t need to be done any more than every few hours as the difference between the target and opposing order entry level is usually quite significant.

Our back-tested results for April and May matched those reported and we also had a positive June, which we traded on a real account, see below:

GBPUSD

• April 2010 – 14 trades, 9 (+40.5%) winners and 5 (-25%) losers = +15.5%
• May 2010 – 18 trades, 9 (+40.5%) winners and 9 losers (-45%) = -4.5%
• June 2010 – 22 trades, 13 (+58.5%) winners and 9 losers (-45%) = +13.5%
Net gain of 24.5%.

USDJPY
• April 2010 – 13 trades, 7 (31.5%) winners and 6 losers (-30%) = +1.5%
• May 2010 – 13 trades, 5 (22.5%) winners and 8 losers (-40) = -17.5%
• June 2010 – 14 trades, 9 (40.5%) winners and 5 losers (-25%) = +15.5%
Net loss of 0.5%.

Tenkei Trading Techniques Forex Trading System Review

The aim of the Tenkei Trading Techniques System is to make just 10 points a day between 7:00am and 9:00am or 7:00pm and 9:00pm, thus at £5 per point, make £250 a week or over £1,000 a month”.

The manual provided details the strategy which is quite well presented with working examples, etc. Entry is based on two criteria being met, the first on the 1 minute chart, the second on the 3 minute chart. Supporting price action then confirms entry.

There is a degree of discretion for entry, one of two rules are generally applied, a break above the high/low of the trade confirmation candle or 5 or 10 points above the Moving Average crossover. The former was more generally applicable in the Daily updates although occasionally it was the latter. Some trades were entered without reference to the 3 minute time-frame and some, purely on the direction of the Moving Averages, further discretion.

There is potential here for some (who like lower time-frames) to use this as a “scalping” rule base.

Forex Backlash Trading System Review

Stephen Lee Jones, a “Seven figure professional Forex trader exposes his $7317 a week 100% mechanical, automated ‘fool-proof’ trading plan proven to generate profitable winning trades on autopilot in only a few minutes a week”, “the perfect system developed for 9-5 ‘ers to effortlessly secure a ‘set-and-forget’ second income”.

The 57 page manual comes in quite a nice Powerpoint kind of style which is pleasing to the eye. The system operates around a Bar chart, an SMA, Guppy Count Back Lines and some basic Gann methodology. A little complicated at first but soon becomes clear.

As this is a system that can be quite easily back-tested we back-tested the Daily charts on USD/CHF, USD/JPY, GBP/USD and EUR/USD. Across all pairs we estimated a year to date profit of around 350 pips or about 3% risking 2% of account balance per trade.

Market timing would be crucial when starting to use this system, a choppy market could be painful, especially if encountered straight away.

Net Trap Forex Trading System Review

This is a system provided by Richard Hill who is a “quiet fisherman” who has exposed “his secret to stress free Forex profits, swapping the trading floor for a fishing net”. The system trades GBP/USD once a day at 06:30 UK Local time and takes less than 10 minutes each morning. The manual is well written with one page in particular defining the bulk of the system, the remainder being mainly for beginners and those wanting to know a little more about the guts of the system. It details what the strategy is about and goes into quite some detail about opening a Spread betting account, placing orders, stops, targets etc.

Net Trap is an easy system to set up on any trading platform and we traded the system in real-time from the end of March to the end of April, 5 weeks. Entry is 100% mechanical as is the Stop and Target, fixed at 30 and 50 respectively.

We also back-tested all of February and March. Results were February +51 pips, circa +3.5%, March +124 pips, circa +8% and April (which was all traded in real-time) showed a net profit of +34 pips, circa +2%. This is the kind of system we like, it ticks a lot of our boxes, which many of you are now familiar with. The timing suits us, it is 100% mechanical (especially if you translate the rules into an indicator), it’s almost effortless and has also proven profitable (albeit over a short period of time).

We will be continuing to trade this system in real-time with the potential view of adding it to our Systems We Use list. A little more due diligence is appropriate for a system we have only been running in real-time for 5 weeks.

3 Ducks 1 On 1 Advanced Trading System Review

This is not so much a Trading system, it is more of a Trading course where an "advanced" version of the (Free) 3 Ducks Trading System is taught in a 1 on 1 session with the Author, Andy Perry. The course is performed via Skype and a 3rd part screen sharing application. Part 1 is a walk-through of the entire "advanced" process on historic charts and is an interactive session. Part 2 is performed in the current market and you apply what you have learnt in real-time under Andy's guidance. The end result is a kind of Set & Forget, apply once a day, strategy. Really helpful is the twice weekly email where Andy provides his current view of the markets in relation to the "advanced" strategy. This keeps you "in check" and allows you to compare your own views on the market. The email support is also very good and leaves you feeling supported even after you leave the course.

My Easy Forex Signals Signal Service Review

This service actually offers 5 individual services all under the same umbrella, Trend Trades, Hedge Trades, Commodities & Indicies, US Stocks and finally Position Trades. Our main interest was in the Trend trades, which are Forex based with a 92% success rate, described as a Day trading "trend type" service. There is more detail of what the other services are in our main review.

The Trend Trades Service - This is more a service that comes with a strategy which must be applied on a discretionary basis. Every hour on the hour one decides whether to Enter a trade based on the signal and price action, if in a trade, every hour on the hour, again one decides whether to exit the trade or stay in. So, quite a lot of work here for a signal service but one which was rewarding, for us. However, although rewarding it was quite time consuming and we also achieved only about 50% of the returns reported by the vendor. However, we fully understand that this may just well be that we were not fully experienced with the strategy.

Forex Mutant Trading System Review

A system which headlines with "Generates 698% Profit With Cirtually No Risk ... Shocks Forex Elite ... And Forces So-Called 'Gurus' To Head For The Hills!" Purchase is $97, followed by $47 for an advanced version and then $27 for a further system "secretly used to make $10,000's for the price of a couple of Starbuck's coffee", we decided on the coffee. It's quite easy to round up on these systems, we treat the $97 deal as Basic and the $47 as Advanced. Basic - No trading rules, you react to a pop-up which we observed for a few days. When a pop-up tells you to go Long at 15000 with a Stop at 15010 and a Target at 14970 it's time to move on so we did. The Advanced version had us in observation mode again, this time, repainting indicators, suffice to say, we decided to move on, again. At least we got a refund back from Clickbank.

Systems For Traders - February Update

February 2010 Update

All,

Seems like a strange month this month. We seem to have been crazy busy and then it seemed like we hadn't really done much. Then we came to put this update together and actually realised we had achieved a reasonable amount.

So, System reviews this month, 3 Ducks Advanced 1 On 1 and Forex Mutant completed, as are our comments on Enlightenment Forex & Forex Ultimatum.

Signal services, we were reviewing the Fixed Odds Trading Signals & Guide service but half way through the review the service was withdrawn.
We did manage to complete our review of the (My) Easy Forex Signals service, link on the left.

Performance wise for "Systems/Services We Use", once again, diversity has helped us. Sniper Forex finished in the Black (4% up based on 2% risk per trade) and London Forex Open about 6% up again for the 2nd month in a row (3% risk per trade). DOW Letter disappointed as we slipped back into the Red, down 3.5% based on 5% risk per trade. So, again, diversity pays off with a net positive trading month. All journals have been updated.

As promised, we have also provided (trading) updates on the Forex Senior, Sane Fx & Profit Before Work systems.

The "Trading Rooms" are gaining some momentum, slowly but surely and at present we are pleased to confirm we will be continuing with them for now. We do welcome your input, comments and look forward to your participation.

Once again, we thank all of you who have contributed to the site, without your input the site would not be the resource it is.

Best wishes,
