Daily Forex Trade Live Signal Service Review

Signals for this service are for EUR/USD, GBP/JPY, GBP/USD & USD/JPY and are delivered at 22:00 UK Local time by email. There is a Buy & a Sell order for each pair so 8 orders and about 5 minutes effort. Stops around 60 and targets about the same, typically 1:1 Risk:Reward and trades are pretty much Set & Forget. One does have to be around to remove the "opposite" order in the event one id triggered in the other direction, but there is typically plenty of time to do this. During our exposure to this service we suffered quite big losses, so for the price tag and the performance we experienced we decided to steer well clear.

PipTastic (FTSE) Trading System Review

This is, what we consider, more of an educational product than an actual Trading system. The deliverables, of which there are many are well worth a read for anyone new to trading (especially those looking at sub 15 minute timeframes and indicies, in particular the FTSE). The product does actually provide 3 - 4 base-line systems which can be used as building blocks as they are well explained and also have some sound trading principles. The main value that this product offers are the Daily updates. These are emails which detail the results for all the various systems as well as screen prints and commentary on the days Price action. This is the best personalised daily email service (in relation to a trading system) we have come across to date.

Forex Mobster Trading System Review

A 55 page manual that is clear and easy to read. The system is traded on the 4 hour (anchor) and 1 hour (for entry) time-frames and uses just 2 industry standard indicators. Set up is easy (on MT4), Entries and Exits are clear and 100% mechanical with some discretion required for initial Stop loss. Limited back-testing across 6 popular pairs and about 2 weeks of real-time trading left us about break-even and for sure were not hitting the 94% win rate mentioned on the web-site. We found that Entries and Exits to be quite late and without catching a very strong trend that this system would struggle somewhat.

Vision FX (Forex) Signal Service Review

Signals are issued at 03:00 UK Local time which we typically placed around 07:00, as near to waking up time as possible. This didn’t affect performance too much, some we lost, some we won, etc. The email doesn't actually contain the signal details, one has to log into the web-site for the details but this is no great hardship. Order entry takes about 5 minutes, 8 orders, one long and one short for each FX pair. Once in a trade the service is supposed to tell you what to do with open trades, hold/exit. However, we found no information like this and after over 1 week of no support response to our numerous emails we gave up, we also failed miserably in our attempt to get any kind of refund.

Forex Senior Signal Service Review

Signals for this service cover 7 currency pairs and are delivered at 22:00 UK Local time by email. The email received at 22:00 will usually only have one order for each pair, this is not one of those services that identifies Buy and Sell orders each way for every currency. If there is no signal for any pair the email simply states this. Effort is minimal and Risk:Reward is usually around the 1:1.5 area. We were happy with this performance during the 3 months we had access, we made a profit and matched the results reported on the website. For this reason we are continuing to run this service to the end of the year before committing to the (high) subscription costs and a more sizable account. It's really a shame also that a service costing this much does not provide/included SMS delivery.

John Piper Trade Maker Signal Service Review

A service based mainly on Binary Betting, promising returns of over £1,000 a month for an annual subscription fee of around £500. Timing with this service is quite important as most "bets" are intra-day FTSE bets. The signals typically arrive between 10:00 - 16:00 (UK Local time) and placement takes less than a minute. Sometimes trades are left to run to expiry but more often than not some interim trade management is advised (if the "bet" is going well). Performance in July & August 2009 (when we were conducting our review) was way below par and the service needs to get back to the performance levels seen in 2008 to make it attractive once again.

Forex Avenger Trading System Review

A reasonably well written 87 page manual, you can skip to page 51 if you have any experience of Forex and trading. Set up is easy and straight forward and it is recommended to trade EUR/USD on the 1 hour chart, which we did. The system is quite relaxed and is about as close to 100% mechanical as we have ever seen. We back-tested 2 months and ran on a (small) account during October and made about a 5% return per month (assuming 2% risk per trade). We are not sure about the Risk:Reward on this system typically 40 - 50 pips to win 30. We have decided to continue to run this system to the end of the year to get more exposure to real-time performance. We will of course provide feedback on our site.

Forex Rebellion Trading System Review

Considering the author promises "no filler fluff" we waded through 5 hours of video content and a 96 manual, all without even touchng the "bonus" material. But, anyway, on to the system itself. Easy to implement, the cleverly written indicator for MT4 does most, if not all the work. There is a small amount of decision making regarding Stop loss placement but apart from that the system is pretty much 95% mechanical. We didn't get on with the 15 minute time-frame (too choppy, too much action (and too many losing trades)) so we swtiched to the 4 hour time-frame. No shots being called here but we liked this system, we have only had 3 weeks exposure but have made some money. We will continue to trade and monitor this system until the end of the year (on the 4 hour time frame). We will provide updates along the way and hopefully receive further input from our forum members too.

SystemsForTraders October Update

All,

Three new reviews to inform you of this month, all of them (in our humble opinion) worthy of a read as they have all provoked extended interest from us.

All journals have also been updated, here.

We did hope to have one other review completed by today but we are just putting the finishing touches to it, Forex Senior. As and when this is completed we will send out an interim update to let you know.

As always, we have reviews in progress and will try again to hit our 4 - 6 reviews per month target in the coming month.

We hope you find the above useful and do p
lease join in on the forums, your input is vital to ensure the collective (that's you) all gain knowledge from each other (again that's you) as well as us.

Forex Empire Trading System Review

This system caught our eye as it seemed to be one based on Point & Figure charts rather than the standard Candlestick charts. However we were quickly disappointed. We wanted to use the system on charts we already use and after enquiring on how to set up our charts (in IG Index) we discovered that we had to sign up to Market Analyst to use the system. There is a Candlestick version of the system which appeared quite rudimentary and missed the point, we were interested in the Point & Figure system. So, as we didn't sign up to Market Analyst we cannot comment much further than that. Does the system work? Perhaps, we are still waiting for someone to tell us they are using it in real-time and making a success of it.

Sniper Forex Trading System Review

A well written 9 pager which suffices in explaining the system which is largely reliant on the 5 custom indicators provided. Set up is easy and the system, Entries, Stops and Exits is about 95% mechanical. The advise is to apply the system, as is, to GBPUSD on the 1 hour-frame. Trading is reasonably relaxed but one does have to be around as an entry can be generated at any time of the day. This is facilitated by an email alert and an audible alert (from Meta Trader 4) when a trade is imminent. We used the system for 2 months and after making reasonable returns we added this to our Systems We Use list. It must be noted though as a trade can occur at any time of the day (between 06:00 - 22:00 (UK local time) one really has to be present and near a pc a lot. Not a lot of chart time is required - but one does have to be able to respond to those entry emails (and audible alerts). We also maintain a journal for this system on our website.

SystemsForTraders September Update

All,

Quite a lot going on and a lot to update you on this month.

In summary, as well as the two reviews completed earlier in the month (Forex Empire & Housewife Trader Presents) two more have now been added, meaning we met our target of 4-6 new reviews each month. One of the new systems reviewed (Sniper Forex) has been added to our "Systems We Use" list as has London Forex Rush. Additionally, BOM Signals has merged with Fixed Odds Investment to form a new company, Fixed Odds Services, so BOM Signals has been removed from our "Services We Use" list and replaced with Fixed Odds Services, a journal has been added and a review will follow in October. Also note details of our Investors Chronicle article and a brief definition of our rating system.

New Reviews:

New Journals:

We did hope to finish the John Piper Trade Maker review in time for this update however we didn't quite make it. We will hopefully drop a quick note out this week to let you know when it has been posted.

If any of you missed it, you can find our Investors Chronicle article (from last week) under the "
In The Press & Ideas And Suggestions" forum.

It's not clear on the web-site and we are not sure how to make it clearer or where (any suggestions welcomed) so here is a brief overview of our rating system:

  • 5 stars = Used By Us
  • 4 stars = Consider It
  • 3 stars = Of Interest
  • 2 stars = Look Around
  • 1 star = Not For Us

As always, we have reviews in progress and will try and ensure we have 4 - 6 new reviews published again in the coming month. We will also endeavour to update our journals in a more timely manner.

Hope you find the above useful. We are delighted with the intial success and take up of the new site and we thank you for your
support. Please do join in on the forums, your input is vital to ensure the collective (that's you) all gain knowledge from each other (again that's you) as well as us.

Best Wishes,

Forex Treasure Signal Service Review

Five FX pairs for the service we signed up to with signals received around 22:00 UK Local time which we typically placed straight away. Quite a relaxed swing trading service with a general 1:1.5 Risk/Reward ratio per trade, however some Stop levels were quite significant, 400 points or so. Trades are generally left open until Stop/Target is hit. During our subscription period we had 11 trades with just two winners, so we were no where near the performance statistics advertised on the website. So, all in all the drawdowns (albeit on a small account) can hurt, as can the rollover costs, some trades ran for almost 2 weeks.

Evening Trader (Markets Mastered) Trading System Review

A well written 43 page manual explaining a system which is pretty much 100% mechanical. Set up is easy and the system itself is based on the 5 minute chart and uses divergence in conjunction with candlestick patterns. Trading starts at 17:00 UK Local time, hence the name, Evening Trader. The logic to this system seems pretty sound but there is a heavy reliance on interpretation of divergence. We just couldn't replicate the results Nick was achieving, mainly due to this interpretation of divergence. This doesn't mean the system can't work it just means one has to have a fine eye for divergence, perhaps we don't!

Housewife Trader Presents Trading System Review

A system that provides "a complete trading manual suitable for those interested in either part-time or full time trading. The whole system is explained in an easy to follow format with graphics and examples" and provides "2 weeks of Daily emails with the days trading results ..... which allows you to compare your results with our own as additional learning and support." After 4 weeks of trying to contact the owner of this service and subsequent purchase we ended up opening a Paypal dispute case and received our refund (about a week or so later). So over a 6 week period we received no correspondence, no acknowledgement, no material, but at least (because the transaction was via Paypal) we received a refund.

Sunday 6 September 2009

London Forex Rush Trading System Review

A system that claims to require 2 hours a day trading just the GBP pairs comes with a very well written 60 page manual and MT4 template (indicators and templates provided). The system is about 95% mechanical, Entries, Stops and Exits are all clearly displayed. Some discretion is required when news is due and when more than one signal is issued, apart from that it's as mechanical as you can get. Set up is easy and we found, the majority of the time 2 minutes a day around 08:00 UK Local time is all thats needed, not the 2 hours advertised. Performance during July and August was more than impressive and this system is very close to making our "Systems We Use" list. (NOTE: We have one outstanding issue with this system and at present we are evaluating whether it's a major issue or not.

In the meantime we are also maintaining a monthly journal for this system on our website.

SystemsForTraders August Update

All,

Not too much of an update this month as we have been spending some time on summer holidays and not trading much during this period.

However, we do have some news worthy of note:

We have 5 reviews on-going at present and all being well they will all be ready for the end of September in line with our target of a review a week.

And finally, as per your requests we have now added a rating to each and every review.

Hope it helps, thanks for your
support, do join in on the forums, its your input that will keep the site going and make it a success.

Forex Kingdom Trading System Review

A reasonably well written 78 page manual. The system itself is based on the 1 hour charts and 3 indicators, one being CAO, which we have never heard of. Set-up is easy with MT4 templates supplied. The CAO indicator makes this system 100% mechanical, Entry, Exit and Stop. Back-testing looked impressive and profitable based on the CAO indicator but in real-time trading this was quite different. Entry and Exit is late as the CAO indicator is drawn late, so an impressive profit on the chart does not translate to an impressive profit in reality. We all love pretty indicators but ones that lag are not for us so we only placed one trade and moved on.

Forex Jackal Trading System Review

Two products, The Jackal Juicer and Jackal Superior Signals. The system document is a 9 pager which is, in the main, plain speaking and easy to read. The system itself is based on a 15 minute chart with a Moving average and Price action around that moving average. Its simple to set up and to trade however due to its nature we found trade opportunuties very restrictive, especially based on the amount of screen time required for this system. The Jackal Superior signals (for £40 a month) we likened to Camarilla levels, which one can find for free on the internet.

Simple Spread Trading (FTSE/DOW) System Review

No manuals here - all strategies are on-line in the members area with one page summaries which, when printed and annotated are just fine. We only reviewed the headline (Binary) system as this is the one on which the website statistics are based. The system is one that can be traded on the FTSE and the DOW and uses the 20 minute binary bets available on IG Index. Decision making is about 85% mechcanical and is based on a 2 minute chart with just one Moving average. This is quite a different and very exciting approach to trading. However, we did find that screen time was quite intense and also that entry was just a little bit too ambiguous for us to consider using it on a full time basis.

3 Ducks Trading System Review

We do not usually review free system/service as the main aim of the site is to try and provide an honest review so others can get an independent opinion before parting with their hard earned cash. And, obviously, so those who have exposure to the systems/services can also add value from their own personal experiences. However, in this instance we made an exception as what we discovered was "a bit of a gem". This system is free and, in our opinion, a sound starting point/building block for those new to trading. No wild claims, no hard sell, just a very decent free and, as the author claims, set of guidelines that can be used to improve your trading. If you like you can buy Andy a pint on his website - and yes, we did!

VisionFX Forex Signal Service Review

Forex Sailor Signal Service Review

A little bit of a strange service this one. Signals for 3 FX pairs and are received at 22:00 UK Local time, however, orders are placed at 23:00/01:00 depending on the FX pair. In addition, there are 3 orders for each pair in each direction so a total of 18 orders. Unfilled orders are also pulled at different times, between 14:00 and 16:00. Further to this we investigated the performance statistics and had it confirmed that they were based on were chart prices and spreads had not been included. After a few calculations we confirmed that a 500 pip profit including spreads on one side would have in fact resulted in a net loss. So, with lots of orders, lots of trade management and no spreads included in the performance statistics, we, justifiably stopped using this service after just a couple of days

Fixed Odds Investments Forex Signal Service Review

Clear set and forget Fixed Odds signals, usually 7 days in duration delivered at any time of day although most of ours came between 18:00 and 22:00 UK Local time. Returns per trade were from 20% - 40% per trade and we risked 5% of our balance per trade. Performance wise we did some analysis on the Year To Date figures, available if requested. We noted about an average over the year of about a 5% - 10% return with a few periods of drawdown to about 5% down at one stage. During our trial which we ran for about 6 weeks we were about break-even on our account. We feel this service is open and honest, signals are clear, easy to execute and are pure set and forget. However, results were quite mixed and we would have liked a fixed time for the signals rather than having them arrive at any time of the day.

True FX Forex Signal Service Review

We signed up for just the majors and received clear signals as promised at 05:00 UK Local time which we typically placed around 07:00, as near to waking up time as possible. This didn’t affect performance too much, some we lost, some we won, etc. It's a 5 minute job to place orders and close all open positions. You see, there are predefined stops for each trade but no target, each open position is closed out before you enter the next days order, simple! Orders not trigerred by 18:00 are cancelled. The price tag is a little high for this service but it could be worth it based on the amount of effort required, especially if performance is consistent and one can get within 25% of the (reported) performance statistics, which we did.

Louise Woof Fool Proof Evening Trading System Review

As usual, from the Louise Woof camp, a very well written 67 page document. This system is based on the DOW and a 5 minute chart using just one indicator and price action. Implementation is easy, Entry and Stop are crystal clear but Exit is not, there are a choice of 3 different exit strategies. We also couldn't get a clear answer from Louise upon which exit strategy the results on the website were based on. This together with the, what we considered, very strange Entry methodology, meant we did little more than by-pass this system.

BOM Signals Forex Signal Service Review

A Fixed Odds, set and forget signal service, well, two actually. There is a Core service and a 100% Club service, both are completely free (for email delivery) with a £10 monthly fee for SMS (if required). Trades for the Core service return between 30% - 50% per trade and so far this year there have been 7 winners and no losers. Trades for the 100% Club return 100% and there is a signal every day. The performance this year is no where near the 75% return achieved in 2008, actually its showing a 5% loss. Most trades are 7 days in duration and are delivered between 08:00 & 09:00 and 18:00 & 19:00 UK Local time. This is a completely free, open and honest service which we use. However, although the Core service is impressive we are not so sure the 100% Club can be as profitable as it was in 2008.

Forex Trades Live Signal Service Review

Signals are sent between 07:00 & 15:00 UK Local time and are for GBP/USD. Target is 32 pips and Stop is from 80-100 so 3 winners are wiped out by 1 loser. There is usually sufficent time to get orders in, although we did miss one trade as the price moved so quickly by the time we could react. Our 100 pips (now 200) profit came in just over a week, however, we did notice that if we had joined a month prior, because of draw-downs, we would still not be 100 pips in profit, we were quite fortunate with our timing it seems. So, we could probably use this service if performance was to return to previous levels of profitability and thus we could justify being constantly available from 07:00 - 15:00 every day.

PLEASE NOTE: Since our review the risk reward has been improved with a target of 72 now the norm, which is much more reasonable for a 80-100 pip risk per trade. Performance also seems to be improving slightly too.
