What Is A PIP

The smallest amount each Currency pair can move is called a PIP (Percentage In Point). For most Currency pairs this movement is reflected in the fourth decimal point, 0.0001. The main exception to this are Currency pairs involving the Japanese Yen (JPY) which is quoted to two decimal points, thus a 1 PIP movement is 0.01. For example, if EUR/USD was to move from 1.3480 to 1.3495 or USD/JPY was to move from 88.50 to 88.65 both reflect 15 PIP movements.

When taking a Long position you make money when the value of the Currency pair rises. Conversely, when taking a Short position you make money when the value of the Currency pair falls. These rises and falls are measured in PIPs.

Forex Hijacker Review

Jason Alexander is the guy behind the Forex Hijacker trading system.

His system is based on trading EURUSD and GBPUSD early in the morning, UK time. There are 3 different approaches which can be applied, all are based on the same straddle and overnight range theory.

It is simple to set the system up and identifying the range is also quite straight forward. Choosing which strategy to employ and whether or not to follow Jason's morning emails has to be decided. We chose to trade the Set & Forget option and also to ignore the morning email, mainly because we agreed to differ with it's content quite often.

For 2 months we traded this system as described above and we made a small loss. To view the results in more detail and read our conclusion please visit our Forex Trading Systems Review Site.

Anytime Trader - Richard Hill Review

Anytime Trader is the 3rd system to be produced by Richard Hill.

The 100+ page manual is well written and even beginners should be able to pick up and use this 100% mechanical system without much of a problem. It is recommended that the system is traded between 10:00 and 10:45 or 13:00 and 16:45 UK time. The instrument of choice is EURUSD on the 15 minute candlestick chart. Stops and Targets are fixed and mean that the Risk:Reward works out at 1 to 1.75.

Although we ended up with a slight loss in January when we used this system this was not the fact that put us off this 3rd offering from the same author ...

Forex 121 Review

This Forex signal service is run by Dam Armitage. Although it is advertised as a Signal service it is in fact a little more than this as it also includes an educational aspect which is then used in conjunction with the signals.

This service comes at a cost - There is a one of cost of £997 for the education and the service is around £100 a month thereafter. Included in this price are Daily Live trading rooms, 1 on 1 Skype mentoring, Q & A sessions, a Weekly Trading school and of course the Signals.

So, the service is expensive but it does include the education (4 different trading set-ups) and many extras which may well suit some. During the time we had access to the complete service we ended up break-even (November 2011). As this was such a short period of time we did decide to provide further coverage, see our Forex 121 Review in full.

Quick Trade FX by Aaron Clarke Review

Quick Trade is a system which claims to take just 5 minutes a day to trade. It looks to take advantage of a simple human error every weekday at
07:00 GMT by trading false break-outs of the USDJPY Currency pair.

It is easy to set up, it's 100% mechanical and even beginners should have no problems picking it up.

After trading the system for a couple of months we ended up just better than break-even, based on 2% risk per trade.

The system is perhaps suited to those completely new to trading who wish to understand the basics of chart reading and order placement and management without, hopefully, losing too much cash in the process - Perhaps making a little!

Wall Street Time Shift Trader

This system is as simple as it comes. It is easy to set up and it is 100% mechanical. At least it becomes 100% mechanical once one makes a few simple decisions where some discretion applies.

We chose to trade the system, as recommended at 13:00 each day UK time and went for a 20 point stop and 30 point target (the most logical).

In our 1st month we made a 23% return based on 2% risk per trade. On the basis it takes less than 5 minutes a day once a day we decided that we would continue to monitor this system under our main review.

Forex Pip Taker Review

Forex Pip Taker is a system which is used to trade 3 recommended currencies, GBPCHF, EURJPY and GBPJPY on the 4 hour chart. It is simple to set up and is about 95% mechanical.

Although we made a profit over the 3 currencies over 3 months the main drawback was having to be around every 4 hours to ensure entries were not missed.

It's a Clickbank product though and those with patience and a good alarm clock may find that it suits them, if it does not then the 60 Day Money Back Guarantee will be useful.

Blue Blade Trader Review

Blue Blade Trader by Chris Hardcastle is a system which, it is recommended, is used primarily to trade USDJPY on the 1 hour chart.

The basis of the system is Ichimoku and it is sold on the basis that it takes about 20 minutes a day. This may be true but in reality we found that this meant 20 minutes a day over a 12 hour+ period every hour on the hour. We seen this as the only feasible way to trade the system. Although profitabel we do not feel the just better than break-even reward justified the effort.

Tunnel Trader Review John Piper

Tunnel Trader is a product by John Piper, who requires no introduction, he is the man behind many Binary (Fixed odds) Trading systems and books.

This system is slightly different to John's usual approach in that it goes for lower risk lower return trades, the exception being the 20x Wall Street (bonus) system.

In our experience the systems were reasonably easy to operate but were a little hit and miss. We made a slight profit on one strategy and a slight loss on the other. If it was 10 minutes a day we may have persevered but the time commitment and low return meant we did not.

Trade The Banks Review

Guy Cohen's Trade The Banks system is one which is largely used to trade US Stocks. The course is presented in over 8 hours of video content and it's content which is very well done and put together.

Core to the system is the online members area where the Trade Finder software (charting package) is accessed. This is where various filters can be applied and trades can be automatically searched for based on user specified criteria.

Although the filtering process sounds great in theory and we made a profit trading this system it was still due to the application of a great deal of discretion. This is explained in more detail under the full review.

BK Forex Advisor Review

This service is one which is run by two high profile industry specialists, Kathy Lien and Boris Schlossberg.

The service, $199 a month, offers 2 - 3 calls a week as well as Daily calendar calls. It's a simple service and is easy to operate and trade with signals coming at pretty much any time of the day (a bit of a downside, would be better if the times were more concentrated/specific in our opinion).

We did experience a profitable month with service so were able to confirm, in our experience, the results on the website were achievable. To conclude the review we then analysed all historic results and you can view these under our main review.

100% FX Review

A 30 minute video on this sales page for a system promising a 100%+ return per trade with a 65%+ chance of every trade winning. All for 5 minutes work on a Monday using a spreadsheet and BetOnMarkets, which means this is a Fixed Odds Trading product.

The manual, which seems a little excessive to start with, is actually well written and explains the system really well. Historic performance, to product launch, for 2011 is also provided based on 4 different Pricing points, 07:00, 09:00, 17:00 and 20:00. All were profitable.

When we used the system we have to admit it really is easy, especially if you have any previous experience of Fixed Odds trading. 15 minutes the first week and then it is a 5 minute a week job, Set & Forget.

At present we are just over break-even with this system but due to the minimal effort required we are keeping an eye on it.

Stock Market Sniper Review

A new product from a new kid on the block, this is Rob Cornish's, an ex-city fund managers, first system.

Its quite a simple system where a check is made each morning on the VIX and also on some fundamentals. Trading is then performed on the FTSE, DOW or S&P to suit, on the 1 minute chart. Entry is based on Price action and a Moving average crossover.

We made a profit with this system over a 6 week period but the lower time-frame can be quite intensive and "scalping" is not really what we believe trading should be all about.

Four Hour Trader Review

Four Hour Trader is a system produced by John Campbell. It can be used to trade various instruments such as EURUSD, Gold, the DOW and Oil. As the name suggests it is only traded on the 4 hour time-frame.

For review purposes we only traded EURUSD, Gold and the DOW as we were asked for an extra $49 for the Oil product.

We had mixed results over a 3 month period with the EURUSD and Gold returning a small but positive monthly return and the DOW outperforming both. The main drawback we encountered was missing over 30% of the trades because we were asleep on the close of two of the 4 hour candles.

T-Desk Review

T-Desk is a Signal Service and the main focus is Forex with commodities such as Oil and Gold also being provided. We traded the EURUSD “channel” for review purposes.

The service itself is based on sending trading signals via email with clear instructions which are traded at the current market price. The fact that signals can be issued at any time of the day Monday to Friday means that the latter is the biggest issue. We had to sleep and just could not physically place all the trades and we fear that no-one else would be able to either.

Forex Renewal Review

Forex Renewal is a Forex Trading system which has claims to have a win rate of 99%+ on its website. The system can be used to trade different opening market sessions such as the New York and London. It costs less than 100 USD but it does not come with any Money Back Guarantee.

Set up of the system is simple, the Stop and Target are both 100% mechanical with the latter being a fixed 20 PIPs. Entry is based on 3 MA’s, a Daily Trend line and Price action. Other discretionary items such as Fibonacci and Higher timeframe analysis do mean that the Entry is not as clear cut as the Stop and Target. This is the most complex aspect of this system, using the 80% mechanical Entry criteria across 6 Currency pairs at the same time to determine the “best one”.

We did no hit anywhere near the 99%+ success rate but we did end up with a small 2% return or so each month for 3 months based on 2% risk per trade.

Daily Cash System Review - Hugo Lawrence

Daily Cash is a system produced by Hugo Lawrence, it costs £495 and is backed by Agora.

The system comes in the form of 2 DVDs and a 100 page manual. Four indicators are used (one is IG Index specific so it means IG Index must also be used) and DOW and GBPUSD are focused on. The 15 minute timeframe is the anchor chart, Stop and Entry are 100% mechanical as they are both fixed, 20 and 10 respectively. The Entry criteria does, we feel, let this system down as it is just way too discretionary.

Beginners would struggle with this system or at least the majority of them would.
