BK Forex Advisor Review

This service is one which is run by two high profile industry specialists, Kathy Lien and Boris Schlossberg.

The service, $199 a month, offers 2 - 3 calls a week as well as Daily calendar calls. It's a simple service and is easy to operate and trade with signals coming at pretty much any time of the day (a bit of a downside, would be better if the times were more concentrated/specific in our opinion).

We did experience a profitable month with service so were able to confirm, in our experience, the results on the website were achievable. To conclude the review we then analysed all historic results and you can view these under our main review.

Make Money On FX Signal Service Review

This is a Signal service with a bit of a twist. The Make Money On FX is an End Of Day Signal service which usually issues a signal around 10pm UK Local time. It trades up to twenty five different currency pairs although typically only has 2 - 4 open positions at any one time. Signals are pretty standard, they are clear and easy to place orders from, Entry price, Target, Stop and Long/Short. May and June were quite impressive, performance wise and there was no service in July and August, the vendor takes a holiday. When we used the service in September and October we failed to make a profit so this service really needs to get back to pre-holiday performance to start to impress.

So, here's the twist. This is not just a Signal service, when subscribing to this service you also get access to a Live Trading room. This is held Monday to Friday between 6:15 and 9:00 London time. An overview of what the vendor will be on the lookout for is given at shortly before 6:30 when the actual action starts. Only two pairs are traded at present, the EURUSD and GBPUSD. Setups are pointed out quite well in advance so it means that it is relatively easy to get in on the same trades as the vendor. Again though, during September and October when we had access we failed to make a profit. Similar to the Signal service, returns to previous performance levels are needed for this to make the time commitment worthwhile. This service is available though on a 1 month no obligation free trial which is nice for those that wish to "dip their toe", the link is here.

DOW Letter Signal Service Review

The Dow Letter is an EOD (End Of Day) Set & Forget signals service. Signals are received around 21:00 (GMT), there are two actually, one telling you to go Long or Short the DOW and then a follow up soon after. The follow up (email) provides the exact levels that the DOW Letter service executed its trade at, including Entry, Stop and Target. So, the service takes about 5 minutes to execute on those days that there is one, usually 5 – 8 a month depending on market volatility. After running the service for a few months we were able to confirm that the results reported on their website were accurate. Historic analysis showed a reasonable return for this service for very little effort (see full review for details). For this reason we added this service to “Services We Use” in January 2010 and since then we have just moved into the Black.

Daily Forex Trade Live Signal Service Review

Signals for this service are for EUR/USD, GBP/JPY, GBP/USD & USD/JPY and are delivered at 22:00 UK Local time by email. There is a Buy & a Sell order for each pair so 8 orders and about 5 minutes effort. Stops around 60 and targets about the same, typically 1:1 Risk:Reward and trades are pretty much Set & Forget. One does have to be around to remove the "opposite" order in the event one id triggered in the other direction, but there is typically plenty of time to do this. During our exposure to this service we suffered quite big losses, so for the price tag and the performance we experienced we decided to steer well clear.

Vision FX (Forex) Signal Service Review

Signals are issued at 03:00 UK Local time which we typically placed around 07:00, as near to waking up time as possible. This didn’t affect performance too much, some we lost, some we won, etc. The email doesn't actually contain the signal details, one has to log into the web-site for the details but this is no great hardship. Order entry takes about 5 minutes, 8 orders, one long and one short for each FX pair. Once in a trade the service is supposed to tell you what to do with open trades, hold/exit. However, we found no information like this and after over 1 week of no support response to our numerous emails we gave up, we also failed miserably in our attempt to get any kind of refund.

Forex Senior Signal Service Review

Signals for this service cover 7 currency pairs and are delivered at 22:00 UK Local time by email. The email received at 22:00 will usually only have one order for each pair, this is not one of those services that identifies Buy and Sell orders each way for every currency. If there is no signal for any pair the email simply states this. Effort is minimal and Risk:Reward is usually around the 1:1.5 area. We were happy with this performance during the 3 months we had access, we made a profit and matched the results reported on the website. For this reason we are continuing to run this service to the end of the year before committing to the (high) subscription costs and a more sizable account. It's really a shame also that a service costing this much does not provide/included SMS delivery.

John Piper Trade Maker Signal Service Review

A service based mainly on Binary Betting, promising returns of over £1,000 a month for an annual subscription fee of around £500. Timing with this service is quite important as most "bets" are intra-day FTSE bets. The signals typically arrive between 10:00 - 16:00 (UK Local time) and placement takes less than a minute. Sometimes trades are left to run to expiry but more often than not some interim trade management is advised (if the "bet" is going well). Performance in July & August 2009 (when we were conducting our review) was way below par and the service needs to get back to the performance levels seen in 2008 to make it attractive once again.

Forex Treasure Signal Service Review

Five FX pairs for the service we signed up to with signals received around 22:00 UK Local time which we typically placed straight away. Quite a relaxed swing trading service with a general 1:1.5 Risk/Reward ratio per trade, however some Stop levels were quite significant, 400 points or so. Trades are generally left open until Stop/Target is hit. During our subscription period we had 11 trades with just two winners, so we were no where near the performance statistics advertised on the website. So, all in all the drawdowns (albeit on a small account) can hurt, as can the rollover costs, some trades ran for almost 2 weeks.

Financial Binary Fixed Odds Signal Service Review

We signed up for the 7 day free trial, available before commiting any money at all. Actually we signed up about 4 times during May and also sent numerous requests to support for past performance history. All this went unanswered so we decided to move on.

Forex Sailor Signal Service Review

A little bit of a strange service this one. Signals for 3 FX pairs and are received at 22:00 UK Local time, however, orders are placed at 23:00/01:00 depending on the FX pair. In addition, there are 3 orders for each pair in each direction so a total of 18 orders. Unfilled orders are also pulled at different times, between 14:00 and 16:00. Further to this we investigated the performance statistics and had it confirmed that they were based on were chart prices and spreads had not been included. After a few calculations we confirmed that a 500 pip profit including spreads on one side would have in fact resulted in a net loss. So, with lots of orders, lots of trade management and no spreads included in the performance statistics, we, justifiably stopped using this service after just a couple of days

Fixed Odds Investments Forex Signal Service Review

Clear set and forget Fixed Odds signals, usually 7 days in duration delivered at any time of day although most of ours came between 18:00 and 22:00 UK Local time. Returns per trade were from 20% - 40% per trade and we risked 5% of our balance per trade. Performance wise we did some analysis on the Year To Date figures, available if requested. We noted about an average over the year of about a 5% - 10% return with a few periods of drawdown to about 5% down at one stage. During our trial which we ran for about 6 weeks we were about break-even on our account. We feel this service is open and honest, signals are clear, easy to execute and are pure set and forget. However, results were quite mixed and we would have liked a fixed time for the signals rather than having them arrive at any time of the day.

True FX Forex Signal Service Review

We signed up for just the majors and received clear signals as promised at 05:00 UK Local time which we typically placed around 07:00, as near to waking up time as possible. This didn’t affect performance too much, some we lost, some we won, etc. It's a 5 minute job to place orders and close all open positions. You see, there are predefined stops for each trade but no target, each open position is closed out before you enter the next days order, simple! Orders not trigerred by 18:00 are cancelled. The price tag is a little high for this service but it could be worth it based on the amount of effort required, especially if performance is consistent and one can get within 25% of the (reported) performance statistics, which we did.

BOM Signals Forex Signal Service Review

A Fixed Odds, set and forget signal service, well, two actually. There is a Core service and a 100% Club service, both are completely free (for email delivery) with a £10 monthly fee for SMS (if required). Trades for the Core service return between 30% - 50% per trade and so far this year there have been 7 winners and no losers. Trades for the 100% Club return 100% and there is a signal every day. The performance this year is no where near the 75% return achieved in 2008, actually its showing a 5% loss. Most trades are 7 days in duration and are delivered between 08:00 & 09:00 and 18:00 & 19:00 UK Local time. This is a completely free, open and honest service which we use. However, although the Core service is impressive we are not so sure the 100% Club can be as profitable as it was in 2008.

Forex Trades Live Signal Service Review

Signals are sent between 07:00 & 15:00 UK Local time and are for GBP/USD. Target is 32 pips and Stop is from 80-100 so 3 winners are wiped out by 1 loser. There is usually sufficent time to get orders in, although we did miss one trade as the price moved so quickly by the time we could react. Our 100 pips (now 200) profit came in just over a week, however, we did notice that if we had joined a month prior, because of draw-downs, we would still not be 100 pips in profit, we were quite fortunate with our timing it seems. So, we could probably use this service if performance was to return to previous levels of profitability and thus we could justify being constantly available from 07:00 - 15:00 every day.

PLEASE NOTE: Since our review the risk reward has been improved with a target of 72 now the norm, which is much more reasonable for a 80-100 pip risk per trade. Performance also seems to be improving slightly too.
